El esloveno Grega Bole (Bahrain-Merida) se anotó esta madrugada (hora española) su segundo triunfo de etapa en la Vuelta a Japón al superar, en un sprint a tres, al australiano Chris Harper (Bennelong SwissWelness) y al colombiano Félix Alejandro Baron (Iluminate).



Bole, que llegó a meta con más de un minuto de ventaja respecto al pelotón principal, en el que se encontraba el líder, el español Marco García (Kinan), ha hecho servir esa renta para escalar seis puestos en esa general que llegó a liderar tras su victoria en la segunda etapa y colocarse en quinta posición a 1:40 de un García que no debería tener problemas esta noche en Tokio para defender la renta de 35 segundos que mantiene sobre Hermann Pernsteiner (Bahrain-Merida). El tercer clasificado, Thomas Lebas, no supone un peligro real para el español ya que, además de encontrarse a 53 segundos, es compañero de equipo y, por lo tanto, no debe esperar ataques por su parte.
