El binomio formado por Olav Kooij y Wout Van Aert continúa arrasando en el Tour de Bretaña por segundo día consecutivo. El joven neerlandés se llevó la victoria -la 9º de la temporada y la 27º profesional- gracias a la ayuda del inestimable Wout Van Aert. A diferencia de la jornada de ayer, el belga no pudo llevarse la segunda plaza -terminó 3º- y Jumbo se quedó sin doblete por culpa de Danny Van Poppel (2º) que tuvo la capacidad suficiente de superar a Van Aert. Con quién no pudo fue con el exitoso Olav Kooij, que actualmente sigue al frente de la clasificación general. Gonzalo Serrano (15º) fue el mejor español.
Finn Crockett (Saint Piran), Callum Ormiston (Global 6), Jacob Scott (Bolton) y Abram Stockmann (TDT) formaron una fuga que no tuvo opciones de llegar a meta en ningún momento. El escaso kilometraje -tan solo 109 kilómetros- obligó al pelotón a dejar hacer la fuga en los primeros instantes, aunque no les dejaron excesivo margen. Realmente no llegaron a contar con más de un minuto, siendo neutralizados sus dos últimos supervivientes a 10 km de la línea de meta.
Una caída descartó en el kilómetro final a Tobias Lund Andresen (DSM), mientras Ineos, Bora y Jumbo luchaban por la mejor posición posible. El poderío de los neerlandeses fue factor suficiente para enfilar la recta de meta con la mejor colocación. Wout Van aert se encargó de lanzar a Olav Kooij y al apartarse decidió -por segundo día consecutivo- coger la rueda de su compañero para asegurarse la segunda plaza y el doblete de Jumbo por segunda jornada consecutiva. Fue Danny Van Poppel el ciclista que se entrometió entre Kooi y Van Aert, obteniendo el alemán su tercer segundo puesto del año.

DECLARACIONES
Olav Kooij (Jumbo): «Después de la etapa del domingo, todo el mundo nos esperaba para controlar la escapada. Desplegamos a dos corredores para incluir la escapada del día. Fue muy rápida hacia los últimos tres kilómetros, en ligero descenso. Tras nuestro reconocimiento, sabíamos que teníamos que ser los primeros en arrancar en el último kilómetro. Lo conseguimos. Wout atacó entonces en un tramo ligeramente cuesta arriba y entonces sabes que todo el mundo se tambalea. Después de eso, todo lo que tuve que hacer fue montar mi sprint. Los chicos han trabajado duro durante dos días y será una semana larga si tenemos que seguir así. Así que todavía vamos a discutir cómo lo haremos. Fuimos de izquierda a derecha y luego rodamos muy cerca de las vallas (peones, ed.). Nunca es divertido que ocurra algo así».
