El mexicano Issac del Toro (UAE) confirmó este domingo su primer triunfo en una carrera profesional por etapas después de una jornada llana en la que no tuvo mayores problemas para aguantar el liderato.
Una etapa final en la que Jonathan Milan (Lidl) confirmó que era el mejor esprinter de esta carrera para volver a imponer su fuerza y lograr así un gran triplete para él. Un éxito que ocasiona que ya lleve cinco triunfos en este 2026.
Había muchos nervios y mucha expectativa para esta jornada final que, aunque era totalmente llana, podía deparar sorpresas, sobre todo en forma de abanicos. Tanto es así que ya en los primeros kilómetros algunos hombres importantes como Castrillo, Evenepoel, Kessler y Tejada intentaban escaparse, aunque sin demasiado éxito.
Luego se conformó una escapada algo más solida con Caudell, Hoole, Milesi, Mikutis y Thornley. Se entendieron muy bien, son buenos rodadores, y mantuvieron un gran pulso con el pelotón hasta 1.9 km para la meta. Y eso a pesar de que Caudell sufría calambres y se quedaba descolgado unos kilómetros antes.
El primer español en meta fue Pablo Castrillo, del Movistar (91º), que acaba también como el mejor en la general (23º).

Milan: «Acabar así es muy importante y estoy muy feliz. Ha sido una etapa final muy rápida y exigente, los fugados nos han obligado a exprimirnos al máximo para el final. Tejada: «En primer lugar, quiero dar las gracias a mi equipo y a todos los ciclistas que han hecho un gran trabajo cada día para apoyarme. Sabíamos que la carrera sería dura, tanto por el perfil del recorrido como por el nivel de los ciclistas que tomaban la salida. Sin embargo, nuestro objetivo era ambicioso: luchar por un puesto entre los cinco primeros o incluso por el podio. Al final, terminé cuarto, el «término medio», por así decirlo. Por supuesto, siempre se quiere más, pero tengo que admitir que el cuarto puesto es un resultado significativo para mí y demuestra que todo el esfuerzo y el trabajo duro no han sido en vano.
