Lucas Carstensen acumula éxitos en el Tour de Tailandia. De hecho, el velocista alemán consiguió su cuarta victoria en 5 días. En la 5ª etapa, de 156 kilómetros, entre Trang y Satun, el corredor de Bike Aid se impuso al sprint a Ryan Jastrab (Wildlige Generation Pro Cycling) y a Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan (Terengganu Cycling Team).
Con este nuevo éxito, y gracias al sistema de bonificaciones, el hamburgués se pone al frente de la clasificación general, aunque en el mismo segundo que Sarawut Sirironnachai (Thailand Continental Cycling Team). El español Edgar Nohales entró en el puesto 46.
