El Tour du Limousin llegó este viernes a su desenlace con la cuarta y última etapa entre Saint-Hilaire-Bonneval y Limoges, ofreciendo nuevamente un gran espectáculo tras la victoria de Paul Lapeira el día anterior. De esta manera, la escuadra Decathlon cierra la carrera con dos victorias de etapa y un dominio destacado en los embalajes, mientras que Costiou se lleva la gloria absoluta en una edición muy disputada de la ronda frances
La jornada estuvo marcada por un pulso vibrante entre la fuga del día y un pelotón decidido a jugarse la etapa en el esprint. Finalmente, la caza se produjo en los kilómetros finales y todo se resolvió en un embalaje masivo en las calles de Limoges. Allí, el italiano Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon) fue el más rápido, imponiéndose con autoridad por delante de su compañero Paul Lapeira, que firmó otro gran resultado tras su triunfo del jueves, y del francés Hugo Page (Intermarché), tercero en meta.
En la clasificación general, no hubo cambios: el joven bretón Ewen Costiou (Arkéa) defendió con éxito el maillot amarillo y se proclamó campeón del Tour du Limousin, confirmando su excelente momento de forma.
DECLARACIONES:
Ewen Costiou (Arkéa): «Terminé muy bien el Tour de Francia, donde fui un compañero de equipo ejemplar para Kévin Vauquelin. Estoy muy contento de haber sido recompensado así, ganando después del Tour de Francia, es realmente genial para mí y para el equipo. Demuestra que me he recuperado bien del Tour, y espero que en las otras carreras también esté en forma. Mis compañeros han estado increíbles toda la semana, durante estos cuatro días, y gracias a ellos hemos ganado la general. En el Tour de Francia demostramos que teníamos un equipo muy sólido, y hoy lo hemos vuelto a confirmar. Es especial, no he levantado los brazos en toda la semana, pero he ganado mi primera carrera por etapas como profesional. Ya había ganado en 2024 una etapa del Région Pays de la Loire Tour, pero hoy es evidentemente diferente. Es diferente, pero prefiero ganar una clasificación general como esta. Por el equipo, por la visibilidad… es simplemente increíble. Creo que mi mánager, Emmanuel Hubert, está muy orgulloso de esta victoria».
Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon): «Creíamos que la escapada en la que se encontraba Noa (Isidore) sería victoriosa. Cuando el pelotón volvió en la recta final, tuvimos que hacer un gran esfuerzo para disputar el sprint con Paul (Lapeira). Salí desde muy atrás, así que es fantástico terminar primero y segundo. En esta última etapa, intentamos dar un vuelco a la clasificación general, pero nuestros rivales se mantuvieron firmes. Nos vamos del Tour du Limousin con dos victorias de etapa, lo cual es un buen balance. También es mi segunda victoria de la temporada con el equipo, estoy muy contento y espero tener la oportunidad de volver a ganar antes de que termine el año».
