Arvid de Kleijn fue el vencedor al sprint del GP Fourmies francés 1.Pro lanzado por sus colegas Rick Pluimers y Maikel Zijlaard. El neerlandés de 30 años del Tudor suizo superó en la llegada a Gerben Thijssen y Søren Wærenskjold con Jon Aberasturi (Euskaltel), 8º y primer español. Una buena nueva para el ganador ya que estuvo lesionado en la rodilla tres meses en abril.
Clémant Braz Afonso (CIC U Nantes Atlantique), Jasper Dejaeghere (Flanders) y Jérémy Leveau (Van Rysel) fueron los primeros atacantes ya en la segunda mitad de carrera controlados desde atrás por el Uno-X. Más tardes saltaron del pelotón Dries de Bondt (Decathlon), Andrea Pietrobon (Polti), Jan Stöckli (Corratec), Roel van Sintmaartensdijk (Intermarché) y Stan Van Tricht (Alpecin) que apenas tuvieron margen después de la fusión.
Simon Dehairs (Alpecin), Jordan Labrosse y Gianluca Pollevliet (Decathlon), Olivier Le Gac (Groupama) y Anthony Turgis (TotalEnergies) se fugaorn a 30 kilómetross del final pero su aventura acabó a 9.000 metros. De Bondt y Stan Dewulf trataron de impedir el sprint pero fue imposible y De Kleijn fue el mejor.
DECLARACIONES
Arvid de Kleijn (Tudor): «Estábamos un poco atrás en los últimos kilómetros, pero mantuvimos la calma. En el momento oportuno, nos movimos hacia la izquierda y luego hicimos nuestro propio sprint. Ha sido una carrera muy difícil, con muchos ataques. El control era casi imposible, pero mantuvimos la calma Hacía mucho tiempo que no corríamos juntos [con Zijlaard], pero tenía muchas ganas de demostrar que podemos hacerlo muy bien. Estoy muy contento. Mi próxima carrera es el Gran Premio de Isbergues, el próximo domingo, y entonces intentaremos de nuevo emular este éxito».

La 91ª edición del GP Fourmies (1.Pro) se celebra el domingo 8 de septiembre. El recorrido será igual al del año pasado, con la salida y la llegada ubicadas en la localidad que da nombre a la carrera y con un total de 197,6 kilómetros que recorrer.
Por el momento solamente se conoce la confirmación de los 20 equipos que estarán presentes en la carrera. En total serán 7 World Team, 9 Pro Team y 4 continentales los que estarán en la línea de salida. El conjunto Euskaltel es la única escuadra española confirmada.
