La 53ª edición de la Flecha de Heist llegó se decidió en un lanzamiento dominado por Paul Magnier. El ciclista de 21 años sumó su cuarta victoria de la temporada después de una gran ejecución colectiva de los Soudal, que atesoran 17 triunfos en 2025.
Dissel, Grondin, Hillen, Reynders, Verheyen y Wang compusieron un sexteto de fugados en la cabeza de carrera, que duró hasta los últimos 40 kilómetros del día. Momento en el que el pelotón y sus hombres rápidos quisieron controlar la prueba belga. Cuando todo parecía marchar en tranquilidad, Aldo Tailleu (Lotto) atacó a menos de 30 km para la llegada en Heist-op-den-Berg, poco antes del último paso por el Heistse Berg. El ciclista belga aguantó su pulso con el paquete perseguidor pero en los últimos 8 kilómetros fue absorbido para que los conjuntos con hombres rápidos hoy se disputaran la carrera entre ellos.
Soudal no será el equipo dominador de hace un poco más de un lustro pero cuando se combinan distintos factores como inteligencia en carrera, posición y lanzamiento, siguen siendo los mejores del pelotón world tour. Hoy los belgas tiraron de oficio para vencer con Paul Magnier, un ciclista que está llamado a firmar grandes actuaciones futuras.
Tobias Lund Andresen (Picnic) y Simon Dehairs (Alpecin) cruzaron la línea de meta tras Magnier en segunda y tercera posición, respectivamente. El corredor español de Caja Rural, Gorka Sorarrain, se vio obligado a abandonar la prueba.

Paul Magnier (Soudal): «Es una gran victoria de la que estoy muy satisfecho, porque es el resultado de un fantástico esfuerzo de equipo. Todo el equipo ha hecho un trabajo excelente, y Bert (Van Lerberghe) ha estado increíble en los últimos kilómetros, asegurándose de que siempre estuviera donde tenía que estar, desde la última subida hasta el último kilómetro de la carrera. En el esprint, lo he dado todo y estoy contento de haber podido llevarme la victoria. Es una forma ideal de empezar el mes y espero que pronto lleguen otras victorias para nuestro equipo».

La organización de la Heistse Pijl presentó su recorrido para la edición de 2025. Programada para el sábado 7 de junio, la carrera belga confirma un recorrido muy similar al de la edición del año pasado, cuando Alexander Kristoff se impuso al final de un esprint de un grupo bastante selecto.
La salida y la meta estarán ubicadas nuevamente en Vosselaar y Heist-op-den-Berg, donde tras un tramo llano de unos 85 kilómetros, habrá un circuito final de 19,7 kilómetros, que se repetirá en cinco ocasiones. Este bucle se caracterizará por el corto y explosivo muro adoquinado del Heistseberg (450 metros al 4,5%, máx. 8%), que se subirá en un total de seis ocasiones, la última de ellas a sólo 2 kilómetros de la llegada.
También conocida como Flecha de Heist, esta prueba de un día se disputa en la provincia belga de Amberes. Cuenta con una larga historia como critérium, llegándose a disputar ininterrumpidamente desde 1927 hasta 1983. En el 2008, se rescató coincidiendo con el milenario de la ciudad.
