2ª Tour Utah: Exhibición subiendo y bajando de Kuss

El norteamericano Sepp Kuss (LottoNL-Jumbo) es el nuevo líder del Tour de Utah 2018 después de haber ganado en solitario la segunda etapa con salida y llegada en Payson y un recorrido de de 142,6 kilómetros.

La clave de la etapa estuvo en la ascensión de Mount Nebo, a más de 2.700 metros -aunque sin nombre en el libro de ruta- y con un largo descenso de más de 30 kilómetros hasta la meta. Kuss -un joven de 23 años, nacido en Durango-, procedente de una escapada, coronaba en solitario con casi un minuto y administraba su ventaja con un gran descenso ante el grupo del líder, Tejay Van Garderen (BMC), de una docena de ciclistas, que al final cedía medio minuto, adelantándose otro compañero de Kuss, el también norteamericano Neilson Powless, que se sitúa segundo en la general a 21″ de Kuss con el anterior líder ahora tercero, a25″.

La próxima etapa

Mañana se disputa la tercera etapa, de 167,4 kilómetros con salida en Antelope Island y meta en Layton.
