3ª Tour Langkawi: De Vos estrena al Rally

El canadiense Adam De Vos (Rally) dio la sorpresa hoy en Kuala Lumpur, punto de llegada de la tercera etapa del Tour de Langkawi (2.HC) en la que Andrea Guardini (Bardiani-CSF), ganador el lunes y, en toda su carrera, de 23 etapas en esta carrera, había conseguido levantar los brazos en tres ocasiones en el pasado.



Nada más darse la salida el canadiense se metió en la fuga de nueve hombres que, sin ninguna esperanza de llegar a la línea de meta, comenzaron su andadura y, pedalada a pedalada, fueron abriendo hueco sobre un pelotón que, para cuando quiso reaccionar, se vio con más de siete minutos de desventaja y, por lo tanto, con un grave problema entre las manos.

En el grupo confiaban en que el viento, anunciado lateral en la parte final de la etapa, pudiera jugar a su favor, pero esto no fue así y pese a que a 20 kilómetros de la meta los fugados ya sólo contaban con poco más de tres minutos de ventaja, supieron resistir para llegar a Kuala Lumpur con algo más de un minuto sobre el pelotón.

Entre los fugados, Adam de Vos tuvo todavía fuerzas para separarse del resto de sus compañeros de aventura y llegar en solitario a una meta en la que ha estrenando el palmarés de 2018 para su equipo, el Rally estadounidense.
